Proclamation No. 244 s. 1993 declares the month of September of every year as the National Clean-up Month and the 17th to the 23rd of September of each year as the World Clean and Green Week.
It aims to mobilize a massive voluntary action to support and complement the country’s clean-up and environmental greening activities wherein garbage reduction, recycling, and composting, and the rehabilitation of waterways will be institutionalized by various sectors of society.
Also, formal and non-formal education on garbage management, pollution control, and the training of trainors, teachers, and youth leaders will be intensified during the month of September.
